THE
2007 UNICEL ALEXANDRIA AMERICAN LEGION POST 87 BASEBALL TEAM AT
THE COLLEGE WORLD SERIES IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA. The
2007 Alexandria American Legion Post 87 baseball team continued the tradition
of excellence in baseball, family, and fun. Memories were created that will last
the rest of our lives and no score or result can ever take them away. We won and
lost with class and dignity and can hold our heads up high knowing that we played
this great game of baseball the way it was meant to be played. We wish our upperclassman
the best of luck in the future. Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters for
making the 2007 season possible. Personally,
I want to thank the parents for making the sacrifices necessary to allow us to
have a season I will never forget. I am forever grateful for your support and
commitment to your son. It has been a privlegde and an honor to coach your son.
I will always remember the 2007 season as one of great accomplishment and one
in which a very tight knit group of players came together and played their hearts
out to the end. Boys, hold your heads up high for you are all winners and their
is great plan for all of you. TEAM!!! Russ
Hinrichs The Green Fields
Of The Mind By A. Bartlett Giamatti
It breaks
your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring,
when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the
afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come out, it stops
and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on
it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and
high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need
it most, it stops. | Alexandria
